F'ing snowplow decimated the side of my car

I go to shovel out my car this morning, and when I went to scrape off the side-view mirror I realized the glass and the plate it mounts to inside the assembly are missing....wtf? I looked down the street and every single car that was parked there had its mirror hanging off or smashed. I am so pissed right now. I figured the mounting plate & glass would be fairly cheap...it's 109 bucks from my chevy dealer. I could order a whole new assembly from advanced auto parts for 60 bucks, but then I have to take the old assembly off and put the new one on, which is apparently a pain in the ass in my year/model. Not the way I wanted to start the day

It is annoying that your side-view mirror got clipped, but that's about the mildest accident that could have happened with a snow plow involved. Don't get too bent out of shape over it.

OP, be careful with underlying body damage. The door may be seriously tweaked but hard to detect.

better check your tires too. if a plow got your mirror, theres a good chance they scraped your tires and decimated them to the point where you can actually see a mark in the rubber. this means you will die on the freeway at 80mph because the tires are decimated.

Was it parked on the road? It's illegal in a lot of jurisdictions to park on the road during a snow storm unless it's in a designated parking spot.

If it was in a designated parking spot, I'd sure as hell make the city pay for it.

Can't park on he street here from 2 a.m. to 7 a.m. in the winter, for just this reason. That way they have no liability at all. Plus they can generate a little revenue with parking tickets.
