Fine tuning volume in Vista

I just upgraded from XP to Vista, and the only thing that's annoying me is the lack of a "wave" slider like XP had in its volume mixer. I had gotten used to using my keyboard's volume up/down buttons to control headphone volume, since neither my headphones or my speakers have a knob/slider to adjust headphone volume. With XP, I dropped the "wave" slider down to 20-30% so that i could make relatively fine adjustments with the keyboard button. With Vista, each notch makes the volume jump up a lot, making it so I can only increase the volume once before it gets deafening.

Is there some way to reduce the maximum system volume, like there was with XP?
