Hello. I have a P4 1.6A @ 2.34... i'm not really trying to get any insane oc's here, just want a sort of project to play with. Now, i'm not sure if what i'm looking for exists, but i'll ask anyway. What i'm looking for is a water cooling system that just runs maybe a tube through the case and back out, no peltier or anything directly on the cpu. i figure if i just run a tube through the case, right next to the cpu, the coldness coming off of the tube would cool down the hot air right around the cpu. Again, i'm not looking for a system to replace my hs&f, just a supplementle water cooling system to cool down the air in there. Any know of some links to these, info on them, etc? Thanks a lot for the help.

I cant say that something like that existes. 1 it would be HIGHLY ineffective. and 2. it probibly would be easyer to spend the extra $60 to get a full blown system. (Radiator(20) + Waterblock(40)) but if you did want to do It, I recomend that you change your specs just a little. Get a Radiator, Pump, and fan for the radiator. Then have the fan Blow through the radiator onto the HSF. you probibly would want to find a mini Freazer and put the tubing through it. Then you would probibly need Insolation for the tubing (condensation). All in all. Still not very effective. It would even be easyer to have a blow hole in the side of the case and point a 120mm fan at the hsf. I think youll find most people agree with me. but if you want to do it that way. Dangerden, Becooling, Dtek, and amdmb, will all help you out there.

I agree. You need a Radiator, Pump, Res, and a Fan for the Radiator.
It may seem like alot, but there are inexpensive alternatives. You don't need the best pump or radiator. Just something that will
do the job right. :)
The links they have recommended should help you get addtional information.
There's also extrememhz.com

Ok, i never restricted this setup to not have a radiator and pump and fan on the radiator. i posted this before i did much water cooling research. now i have learned that was i was proposing is just a regular water cooling system without the water block. my idea was to wrap the tubing around the heatsink, thus cooling it down and in turn reducing chip warmth somewhat. yes yes, i know i would still need pump-->radiator-->thru case--> pump, but all i was considering was just taking out the waterblock stage. i think you guys mistook my post as a brazen attempt to put forth my idea, rather than a harmless inquiry into how it works.

I actually thought about doing this too, taking a stock heatsink, and turning it into a water block. I ran into a few problems when I tried to actually do this. The bonds betweeen the tubing and the heatsink were to weak and leaked. And I couldn't create a strong clip that held the water block on the motherboard with any reasonable amount of pressure. After trying square HSs, I tried with some success to convert an ORB heatsink into the water block but again, it leaked. After about a month trying, I broke down and bought the Maze3.

Just keep these in mind as you are building your system.
