hi, i'm enquirying if anyone knows how to find the default gateway for a local network.

the problem is like this:
when i want to manually set the default gateway for a computer in the network to a router, i usually mixed it up with another router ip, or forget the ip address.
therefore is there any command in windows OS to help locate the ip address of the nearrest router ip address or default gateway?

What he said.

Usually, if I forget the wins/dns or whatever, I'll just obtain an addy from DHCP, ipconfig /all and then get the needed info and then enter the info.

ipconfig /all will only shw your current config if you are wishing to find or cgane routers you will either need to know the ip or scan for it. there is no magical way to find that out.
