Finding my IP in windows 2000?

start a command prompt by start.run... "cmd" and enter. Then run ipconfig

yes--the Ip configurator under WinNT OSs can only be accomplished using the command prompt ipconfig command (left over from DOS)...this can also be used under Win9x OSs.

under the command prompt...

1.) ipconfig /all <------all your info.
2.) ipconfig /release <------releases all your adapters' IP addresses and gateway bindings.
3.) ipconfig /renew <------renews your IP address


This will come in handy when your network goes down or whenever your IP address experies and Windows doesn't obtain a new one.

Take notice of the &quot;cmd&quot;. Do that first. :)

whoa!!! The first time I read the thread there was just up to Bangsailio's thread about it flashing to quickly; so I responded with the post above, and when the page refreshed their were a whole bunch of messages that didn't load the first time. Hmmm...lol
