Finding Mandrake Linux 9.2 ISO's...

Trying to download ISO's for the new version 9.2. I can find plenty of links to them from here http://www.mandrakelinux.com but when I connect via FTP they don't have the ISO's of 9.2, just 9.1..

Anyone know where I can find the latest?

Thank you, Those links don't appear to be working at the moment but at least they are out there... I noted the site said they would be available to the public near the end of October and since this is November 1st I assumed it was a safe bet I could download them. It was also mentioned 9.2 was released October 14.

EDIT: Just got a connection for one of the files... must be very popular at the moment. lol

Thanks!

Slow download speed but its coming... something like 5 or 6 hours remaining.. I suppose on campus I'm spoiled with 1MB/sec or more downloads 🙂

There are bittorrent links out there that have it up and should be faster. Google for Mandrake 9.2 +torrent and you should find a few. 😛

You could always search the Operating Systems forum, and come up with this. However, that thread created prior to the discovery of the LG bug, and more info is available here. Mandrake will come out with new ISOs, compiled with a new kernel that addresses the issue. I'd wait, if I were you, until they're officially released.

if you guys had to choose between Mandrake and Red Hat, which would you prefer?

(for a linux n00b)

Either one. I started out with Mandrake, then did RedHat. Am at Debian now.

😀 Have fun!

well I burned the 3 CD's... get an error part way through the boot process about stage 2 file can't be decompressed (error with RAMDISK)... So now I'm back installing 9.1's until I can find ISO's that I know are good.

linuxiso.org

but i thought mandrake only released their older version and had to pay for newer ones
(not like RH and othe distros)

did you check the ISOs with the MD5SUM?

it lets you know if the ISO was downloaded error free

download the ISO, the MD5SUM (~1KB), and the MD5SUM program. it's like a checksum, i think.

Paying subscribers were able to download the ISOs two-three weeks ago before the actual public release.

9.1 installed alright but after reboot it just sits at a blue screen... roommate thought I might need to get video card drivers before it would work, problem is its an old ATI AGP card and ATI doesn't offer drivers for Linux...

well, i had success! 🙂

i'm now dual booting XP Pro and Red Hat 9 (w/ LILO as the boot manager).

if could only find drivers for my IBM High Rate WiFi card (Actiontec, i think) 🙁

I got mine several weeks ago. How? being a member of the mandrake club and getting the files through BitTorret. No problems.

I love 9.2! 🙂
