Somehow the NFL draft got me thinking about my Grandfather, whom i've never met and know very little about. About the only thing i do know about him is that he played in the NFL for the Philadelphia Eagles in 1945 after being drafted out of Florida. After googling around I couldn't find much about him (no surprise) but i did find a couple of things. He's shown on this 1945 Eagle's roster here where he's listed at John Smith and on this page here where he's listed at Jack Smith (T). On that Eagles Roster page it says he only played 1 game, not sure if that's right or not.

Anyhow, I'm curious to find out more about his football playing days if possible. Anyone have some old football books or something? Can try to search on the net, but i doubt there's much documentation. I don't even know what he looks like. Any help would be really appreciated, but if not, I'll just forget about it, no big deal.
