Finding an apartment

So I just moved out here and have my first full-time job north of Seattle (in Everett). How do I go about finding a good apartment? I've looked around quite a bit but the majority of places aren't that great. Any tips?

Check Apartments.com How far are you willing to commute. There's plenty up here in Bellingham, but then again, that's an hour away from Everett.

Link directs you to the website with Everett already filtered in.

I recomend the cedarcrest apartments in marysville. Cheap, nice neighborhood. It's right by a huge golf course and there is a theatre right down the street. Also it only takes like 15 minutes to get to everett.

Requirements:
Nice area
<20~25 minute commute to south Everett
<900/mo for 1bd/1ba
not too noisy

I guess I'm looking for tips and advice on places that are good.

Just got a place in Bothell for $870
Exit 183...so like 6 miles to Everett
Mill Creek (relatively nice area) is right around the corner...Bothell is OK too

Yeah I like Mill Creek and parts of Bothell. It's a matter of finding an apartment that isn't too expensive but isn't too crappy.

I'm thinking worst case scenario I'll stay in my crappy Everett for another couple months.

EDIT: This place looked nice... until I read those reviews. This is what I'm talking about - lots of places look nice but actually suck 🙁
