Finding an Apartment

Okay, I am moving for a new job this summer and wonder about your opinions? Pro/cons of studio, 1 bdr, and even 2br apartments. I will be living on my own, as I am territorial and stubborn, and shucks, can afford it. I was leaning towards bachelorhood of studio and futon! 🙂

I personally find it fun to live with a roommate(s) as long as the two of you get along. Without a gf 1br = lonely.

if you have the money, 1br. 2br is a waste unless you want a room purely for entertainment/workspace. i need to find a 1br near college park... too damn expensive.

Actually 2 bedrooms usually arent much more than 1 bedroom apartments and it is always nice to have a guest bedroom or a office.

well, it's on average ~$250 more/mo around here, at least what I'm looking at. I'm biased against what I could possibly afford if I wanted spending money. the OP did say he could afford it.. heh. i suppose it boils down to whether or not the savings are worth it for him

Savings would be nice though...have to think about a house in five or so years. 1 bedroom with the rest placed in the living room.

if you're living alone, definitely a 1br. Studio sucks if you cook. 2br is a waste of money. If you ever intend on having friends sleep over though, it's nice to have a one br so you can sleep in your room and not have to deal with people who snore.

I'm in a 3 br with 2 friends and it's great.
