I'm just getting done with my general studies here at college and I"m about ready to transfer to Georgia Southwestern University. But I don't think this college will get me more than bachelors on my road to doctorates. I want to concentrate on Networking and OS, I'm looking to work in a Datacenter/corporate IT department. Masters minimum, doctorate desired. Many degrees in information technology go towards programming, which to say the least i hate with flaming passion. I HATE programming. I do not have the patience for writing a script, and then debugging it for 2 days and making it more efficient.

What do you guys recommend. Needs to be a public, not private institution, so I can use the last 2 years of my Hope Scholarship (Georgia). After that (bachelors) I don't care anymore about the state, I'll go anywhere. I'm being pointed towards Keiser University of Tallahassee (they are within 50 miles so I can use my Georgia Hope Scholarship), GaTech of Atlanta, Westood of Atlanta, Southwestern University of Americus (again, the programming issue). Outside of Georgia is Collins College of Arizona, Brown College of Minnesota.

Any recommendations?

GaTech, If you go Computer Engineering you will be set up nicely for Networking if that is what you are passionate about. Just remember when you get out with your degree all companies want to see cisco certs, MS certs, in some cases security certs.

Looking into System analysis, business analysis. No certs and your job will most likely not get outsourced. Any MIS/CIS major will do.

If you are looking into going towards corp, I would just get a business degree with a minor in CS.

Then you can start at the bottom @ a systems analyst position to get experience.

I've been an analyst. I've been alot of things I started working with RTG at 15. USDC at 17. I don't want to start at the drugs if I don't have to. I just got off the phone with Westwood College about their program. He's heard about RTG and saw where I was heymrdj (as according to the email). So i'm already near a shoe in there.

I just got into Rochester Inst of Tech and they have a specific Computer Security and Information Assurance program. Look at schools who offer both of those depending on what side of networking you want to get in on.
