finding a song

destrekor

Lifer
how do you go about finding a song, when you don't know the lyrics? i have part (or all of) the chorus's tune stuck in my head, and i keep thinking the one part goes:
"why won't you change.... blah blah.... why won't you change... blah blah"
of course the blah blah's are words i don't remember, and i am beginning to think 'why won't you change' isn't even right.. a quick search on google reveals Morrissey (listened to that song on rhapsody, way not right)... and a song by Braid... i cant listen to the song (not on rhapsody) but the lyrics dont feel right, specially since the part that i think is 'why won't you change' doesn't repeat in the chorus itself
its a slower song if that helps, i wanna say its on the rock radio stations now, but don't really remember the last time i heard it, i just know its in my head and its driving me nuts not knowing what it is, specially since i like it

edit:
they got me to hum the damn song lol
linky

Record a WAV of yourself humming it and host it somewhere and we can try to guess it for you.

Just record thw WAV, man. I did that when I didn't know the lyrics once on ATOT, and the first reply was the song I was lookig for.

Try going to your local stations' websites and looking at their playlists. Most of them will even have clips of the songs (at least the Boston stations do).

heh heh i sound funny
lmao

and yep, the edit works fine 🙂
thanks again... now i hope someone can figure that tune out
😀

baahah that wave is terrible.
eh, i amplified the signal in WavePad 300%, and did it again.. so i dunno, what is that, somewhere around 900% amplification? 😀
the signal looked blocky afterwards, but the source was so faint and i felt lazy, so amp'ing it was better than re-doing it 😉

OP, edit your original post to include the link to the wav.

lol right... 'sides, how can u sing a song without knowing the lyrics? you'd be like that guy in the back of the car thats trying hard to sing but in the end, just doesn't know what the hell he is singing
lol
that and it'd sound like humming without singing the lyrics
