Finding a lawyer

So I'm at the point in my life where I should probably have a lawyer handy (general legal advice and real estate matters mostly). So how do I find a good one? Is there any sort of lawyer rating sites or indexes where I can go? Or am I just going to get their hourly rate and hire the one that I can afford?

how can I forget, ATOT, online hang out for doctors, lawyers, and construction workers that like to pour concrete.
