I had already figured out where he was, who he is, his job, annual salary, BOTH of his ex-wives current addresses, the last six digits of his social security number, his credit history and his complete educational background in around 1/16th's of a second.

I am definately not lieing nor am I trying to present myself as this being proof of my ability to think on a higher intellectual level than all of you guys, it's just simply true.

I found it in less than a minute, but probably by accident since I was unde the impression that the beans were to resemble a mans face.

Got it in 3 seconds.

Wasn't that hard really.

Reminds me of those "Wheres Waldo" books from years ago :)

About 10 seconds, but 3 to 60 seconds is huge range for assessment.

I saw him immediately... I don't think that's fair though... my eyes just landed there when I loaded the picture.
Totally based on where you're looking. I found him pretty quick too...the toughest part is identifying what you're looking for. The question should have been, find the man's face in the coffee. I would have found it quicker that way.

I think that's what it's testing, your brain's ability to turn what you hear or read into what you're actually looking for. If you are looking for a 'man' your instinct is to look for a full sized person hidden. Your brain's ability to think outside the box so to speak leads you to find the object instantly.

But the pattern one follows is very individual. I assumed the whole time I was looking for a face, but "coffee" made me imagine liquid, so when I first saw the picture I had to adjust my expectations. Then I started looking for a pattern in the beans, not an individual bean.

I thought it would be like those pictures where you let your eyes lose focus and you see an outline involving many beans. I finally just gave up on that approach and looked around and saw it. Personally, I don't think it means a damn thing.
