Find a drug may have ended but the battle to find cures lives on at rosetta at home.

I'm really glad I was part of FaD, for it has always been a smooth and mostly well maintained project. The 10 million GFlops certificate sure does look good on my computer wall. :)

I didn't do as much FAD as I would have liked. I was going to do some mean FAD when SETI ended.. but oh well that didn't go as planned. It still was a great project and one that I'm proud to have been part of.

Anyone have a machine that is still trying to run FaD? I have one machine that I have not taken it off of yet, and I am just hoping that nothing starts popping up or anything. Thanks

I went ahead and put down all of my FaD crunchers early this A.M. ... well ... er ... ah ... except for two remotes ... I'll get a round TUIT on those ... probably before the end of the year ...

My primary file server is still offline ... :(

oh well ...

Wow Mike, ok, those aren't bad either. I tried hard to get one of those anti-cancer certs but never got one. Still makes me a bit sorry, especially now that FaD is gone and I'll never get one. :(:)

Thanx for the memories guys, and gals if there are any.

I really enjoyed the project objectives, client, and most of all my TeAm Mates!

What happened to FaD?

FAD basically ran out of worthwhile work...they processed more queries than they ever thought they would, and had basically moved on into queries that had less and less of a chance of being significant, so they decided to stop doing work that had little to no significance.

FaD isn't completely dead yet. I just queued up another job for my work laptop minutes ago. There's still one last query to complete...

From the FAD forums

"Sorry, for operational reasons the automatic uninstall has been delayed until Monday 19 December"
