Well my dad's painting business is started to expand last summer and with this ensueing summer paper manangement of it has become a stumbling block for my dad. So with my turning 18 he has entrusted me with handle the house and business finances while he and my mom concentrate on work. I tried Quicken 2005 home and business but it's overly complicated for what I'm doing and what it does is not urgent (paying the bills tracking assest and such) What I need is a way to handle my dad's invoices to costomers. For example I'd go out and take notes on exactly what the house needs. My dad would sit down and calculate on paper the estamate. Is there an easier way to print and make out invoices then this? Something that looks more profesional. Thanks!

You can make blank quote & invoice documents in Word then type in your dad's notes and save the marked up version as a new name (qoute-smith-john-042505.doc).

I don't see how you can make it much simpler unless you had your dad carry around a laptop and portable printer to make and print quotes himself.

Low-tech would be (for quotes) to print out stacks of the blank quote document, and have him use carbon paper to hand-write quotes and keep a copy for himself. A print shop or business catalog could also print these up as multipart forms so carbon paper isn't needed but that will cost a lot more.
