I'm probably going to take a half-course in Actuarial Science (Math of Investment and Credit) in the upcoming school year, and I need your advice on which financial calculator I should purchase. The BA-35 Solar is the "entry-level" financial calculator, while the BA-II Plus is more advanced.

I think this course may be the only actuarial science course I'll be taking at university, but I wouldn't want to be stuck with a crappy calculator if the advanced one is more useful and is still easy to learn.

What have you guys used? What would you recommend I use? Thanks.

BA-II Plus. I use one every day. It's worth every penny.

edit: btw, in financial circles, there's been a long-running battle between the BA-II Plus and the HP 12c. Might help explain some of those Amazon comments.

Thanks for the offer, abaez, but that won't be necessary.
