Before I wrote down the figures, I paid off all of my credit cards to reduce the amount in my bank accounts, and told them that I was not interested in any sort of loans.

What other legit tactics work?

Anyone got a better result?

This year at a community college it was 0 :)

I'm still actually living at home and got PAID almost $5000 AND got FREE tuition. I've spent about $1000 of that on school related stuff.

So that's $4000 to do what I want. A beautiful thing that is. I should just go to college for the rest of my life.

Hmm, with you and that statement, it made me think of:

Milhouse: "I can't believe I have to give her half my stuff"..

Wanted to make a witty comment out of it, but couldn't..so here I am pointing it out.

IMO thats whats wrong with financial aid, nothing against you or anyone that gets paid to go to school, but I and I am sure many others have rather large bills which that money could go towards/

EFC: $1143.

I'm over 25 and living by myself. I just received my award letter today.

$1772 in GRANTS! My tuition is only $1618! I can get another $3313 in subsidized and unsubsidized Stafford loans. And that's just for fall semester. Spring semester will yield similar numbers. :D

Anyone who thinks that they can't afford to go to school is . . . Something that I'm not, ha ha ha ha ha!
