1)
BUY THIS BOOK - at BN.com or at EBAy. Just don't pay over $10 for it. Don't simply read the book, understand the book! I am about 4 years into investing in stocks and I still recomend this to newbies. It is AWESOME and lays down the groundwork for about 90% of what I know today.

2)
Once you ge the hang of things (and read recomended reading), go to fool.com and learn about valuation. They have a good write up on valuation of stocks.

3)
Then start investing. You can then move into books by Benjamin Graham.
