I'm in class right now and I sort of understand what the professor is saying, but most of the time he just throws up like definition and where everything goes. It's bad enough we're already on Chapter 3. I'm still having trouble with Chapters 1 and 2. Any accounting junkies in here?

I'm an accounting major, whats the problem? Alot of times, you have to jot down notes and terms and look them up and understand it when you get home. Any specifics?

lucky. I actually dream about taking a #'s course. I miss playing w/ #'s so much i'm going to go take a couple math courses at a college for fun.

Once I figured out debits vs. credits, the rest was a cakewalk. Maybe I just had a good prof? Managerial accounting was a breeze too.

Do you have T.A.s available to give you some extra help? Sometimes just having someone explain difficult concepts in a different way can help immensely.

Accounting is not meant to be learned by what the teacher says - rather, it takes a lot of time outside of class.

Agreed. When I took my first accounting course, I didnt know what was going on. It was very discouraging. But I went home and practiced and practiced. You have to do the work at home until you get it.

I'll PM you with all my questions. Thanks for the insight.

Accounting is one of the most difficult classes I have taken in college, harder than some of the engineering courses.
There is no definite answer, its all bout fixing your numbers so they balance on your balance sheet.

ME TOOO!!! im taking financial Accounting.. it driving me nuts..

i figure it will just be a bunch of simple balance sheets but jeeze :-(

It is quite simple once you understand all abbreviations & terms.

?What goes up must come down? -- a similar proverb in accounting it is in/out

Accounting is like sex -- it get better if you paid attention & practice.
