It's my first time ever building a computer, I have never even upgraded... I am lowish on cash and have never taken any computer clases..

Maybe thats why I make many topics

Getting XP Home would be a mistake. Spend a few dollars more and get XP Professional.

____

Ahh.. seems like every site is out of stock.. but I'll keep looking

I would by xp pro from newegg or tigerdircet its a bit more expensive but you will be sure its legit. Not sayign that the one you showed is not but there is always a chance. think how come they have the chepest price then newegg,or tigerdirect. but newegg has is for 137.99 HERE and that site has it at $54 off neweggs price and personlay would not buy from GSD(GreatSoftwareDeals)

looks good to me. i'd check on the availability of the e6300. also, it might be good to consider the Western Digital SE16 250gb hard drive instead. a bit faster, and it has 16mb cache. only $15 more ($5 more if u find it on sale).

Is your motherboard overclockable though? I thought that intel boards were not overclockable.

some are and some aren't. even if they're overclockable, you're not going to get much increaase.

do not get an intel motherboard if you plan to overclock the board.

microsoft will support xp pro longer than xp home. everything is pretty much the same for a home user.

The Sonata is a so so case in my opinion, couple that with the less then stellar quality of their bundled PSUs and the $99 price tag doesn?t look so attractive.

I would go with a Lian Li, I really like the PC-V600, consider it an investment.

You have a very low power load there so the 330 watt Seasonic S12 would be plenty and is a top notch PSU. If you think you'll move to a higher powered GPU and/or CPU go with the 380 watt model.

The Bad Axe motherboards turn out great OCs, strangely.

If its got a nice black case, cheap price, decent PSU, and has great reviews how does it not look attractive?

I'm willing to change... but only if theres a better case with: case - psu - fan (and costs under $100)

The quality of the case and PSU doesn?t equal $100 in my opinion (yes I've used it).

I know a few people who personally (I did one of the builds) went with the Sonata and most of them wish they would have went with a Lian Li after having seen one.
