I was offered a new job with the local gov about 2months ago, and was told that I would have start date in about 2 weeks, I just got the start date today, for the 5 of Jan. So things are looking up some.

i've heard gov jobs don't pay well but you get good benefits, lots of vaca and you become almost unfirable. you also get every single possible holiday known to man.

Yeah the pay isn't great, benefits are decent and of course gov holidays which will be nice. Best thing it should be fairly secure. Thanks every one
