Well I have had my G400 Max for a couple months now, but just finally got my 15" monitor back from NEC. So now I have a 17" at 1280x1024@32bit and a 15" at 1024x768@32bit. It is NICE! I am going to fall in love with this, and be unable to use a computer without it!

I just have a couple questions, though, can I give my second monitor a different wall paper than my primary? Also when my monitors are close the 15" makes the 17"'s screen flicker, but the 17" doesn't do the same to the 15". And when I turn on the 15 or change res it makes the screen jump on the 17" (as if I was turn it on, not the other one). What the hell is it's problem?

That jump is probably the deguaser kicking in... if your monitors are close, like mine the degauser on the first monitor will effect the second monitor.... A degauser is a basically a magnetic field aligner if you will, its a magnet, and it effects the second monitor...

I see this both at home with my two monitors, and at work...the monitors are so close that the two monitors on either side will freak out...

Oh, yeah, and no I haven't seen any way to put seperate backgrounds on both screens...

Running the monitors at different refresh rates *might* help.

For you desktop background, you can:

1. Make a huge BMP with the two patterns (one side is 1280x1024, other has the remaining 1024)
2. Active Desktop may help somehow.

I have an HTML background on this box with a background image that rolls onto the second display in an uninterrupted fashion.

Spook: Yeah I figured it was something like that. I got sick of the right side jumpimg so I put a couple inches between them (although they still jump when they turn on or refresh).

SUOrangeman: The 17" is at 81Hz, while the 15" is 72Hz. I'll try the BMP thing.

You can find good directions for different methods of using different wallpapers on different monitors at realtimesoft While you're there make sure to download ultramon an extremely valuable dual monitor tool. Once you go dual monitor, you'll never go back.
