Hi everyone i'm new to the Anandtech forums although i've been a regular reader for a few months.

I'm finally getting rid of my amd athlon 850mhz for an AMD Athlon XP 2000+

Considering i will be building a high end system over the next 5 months in time for christmas i thought it would be a waste of money getting an Athlon XP 3200+ as i'll be getting a socket-939 and an Athlon 64, probably FX.

I managed to sell my 850mhz chip for $21 too.

No questions really, i just thought i'd let you know how excited some of us down at the "low end" get about such meagre upgrades. I only recently upgraded my Voodoo 3 for an FX 5200.

Nice to meet you all.

congrats on the upgrade should help quite a bit. had an 850 a long time ago my self. but that way I go thru chips is kinda sick. since them i've had: 1333 athlon 1800xp, 2100xp, 1800 duron (these thinks can clock like mad!), 2400 mobile barton.

I know you're thrilled and congrats on the upgrade. I had a XP 2000+ for over a year and it ran like a champ.

Welcome to AT!

Congrats on the upgrade. I have a XP 2100+ and i still think its a solid chip at stock speeds. It will last me for another 6-8 months :)
