I've had a p3-750 with 512mb ram and some integrated video for years and I'm finally upgrading. I couldn't handle choppy youtube videos :p

Since I'm cheap, I went for cheap parts...

Asus P5Q-Pro
E5200
4gb ram
Ati 4770 video card

should be pretty decent, especially if the CPU happens to OC well.

Congrats!

I just took a P3 1GHz computer out of service 2 weeks ago....motherboard had two caps that were about to vent and were causing instability in the system. Darned thing had been running 10 hours a day, 6 days a week since I assembled it about 7 years ago. Its replacement was quite similar to what you got.....same cpu, same amt. RAM, but used a different Asus mb with integrated video (being used in a point-of-sale/inventory control computer.)

How do you figure? His faster CPU should be more than enough to handle youtube videos now, even HD ones.

I have a feeling that Slugbait may be speaking facetiously.

Considering I can get hulu HD to run smoothly on an atom netbook. ;)

BigToque, that system is going to rock. I just let go of a E2140 system (1.6ghz Dual Core), and I almost feel bad. It OC'ed like nobody's business (hit 2.4ghz due to motherboard limit, could've gone even further probably). Enjoy your system.

Looks like you've got a pretty solid build there. A Hardware Canucks review said the board has nice overclocking features and the E5200 is an OCer's dream. I've heard of a lot of people easily hitting 3.0ghz or more with just the stock cooler.

This will be a vast improvement over your PIII, obviously. lol.
