He found a flaw in Fusetalk that allowed him to become Anandtech Moderator, told the mods about the flaw, several months later he was given a vacation I believe, he realized the flaw still existed so he used it to post a thread telling how he found the flaw, told them about it, it was never fixed, etc. He did some minor but reversible damage (i.e. he said he deleted certain annoying members, but he actually only renamed them iirc). Mods flip out, tell him they've notified the Canadian authorities, etc, and generally they look pretty foolish.

Edit:

An after-effect was that when they finally got around to trying to fix the bug, everyone's cookies essentially started identifying them as someone else. So out of the blue one evening everyone was logged into someone else's account.

I think they should quietly just take down the portion of the FuseTalk website that advertises it for use by large corporations and the government, for "mission critical" applications.

I then became the Founder and President of the Bannandtech Vacation Club. A strange honor, I have. Aside from permabans, which don't count, I do believe I am the Longest Banned Member.

Oh snap! I was supposed to get a 24 hour ban, but ended up being banned for 2 weeks.

Granted, I was banned the night before I left on a 2 week vacation and I just had to ask when I got home and they unbanned me. 😉

You know, I'm not sure he counts. TECHNICALLY, he was banned for longer than I. But I got "normally banned" for opening my fat mouth (and it won't be the last time.) He got banned...b/c of far worse things. Everyone knows his story...I don't want to bash the guy. But...when you're investigated big time by the authorities...and your posts here are a big reason why....well...you get banned. It's very strange that he's back.

To me...he's like some spectral ghost or something...he should be dead, but he isn't. So I fear him and run away when I see him.
