But

"Your best buys are always at Frys -- Guarenteed".

I live in Austin, and I am pleased that Frys will be here
soon. I have family in the Silicon Valley and in Dallas/
Fort Worth, and have shopped at Frys several times.

Their loss-leader doorbuster specials are good, if you
get there before they run out. Unlike CompUSA, they usually
have more than 10 of each sale item. Returns are very
difficult. I would never buy something there with the
thought that I will be returning it.

Austin is somewhat unique in my experience. We have a huge
number of Mom-and-Pop computer stores. They're pretty
competitive on price (they have to be), and many have decent
service. In Silicon Valley, there are far fewer little
stripmall places, and Frys seems to dominate. It will
be interesting to see what Frys does to the local computer
retail scene.

I had bought alot of my PC parts at PowerUp. They are good. And they know alot about what goes with what (unlike Microcenter and CompUsa).
They are very reseanoable too. Try them out. Only bad thing that they dont open on the weekends...=(
