The US and the EU finally make the concessions needed to help developing economies. Link

The farm subsidies used by the US and the EU have consistently undermined participation of third world nations in international trade, with perverse subsidies often forcing third world farmers to grow cash crops on their own land, and buy imported food. This left them vulnerable to supply interruptions. This new deal could significantly aid Third World nations stableize their economies.

It's about fargin time they have come to this realization. Basic Agriculture should be considered a Sovereign Strategic Issue and not one of Marketplace. Every Nation should have the Right to Protect their source of Food Production.

Dude, this is about trade liberalization. And it's good, since the third world countries have a greater %of their economy based on agriculture. Opening up free trade of manufactured goods and services, for which we have a competitive advantage, and subsidizing agrigultural production, screwed over Africa. You know, that place where people starve? This way, it will be profitable for them to produce food, instead of cash crops. Subsidizing the security of our food supply compromised the security of their food supply. And they need it more.
