after forever being on dialup, for the first time in the history of my home, verizon DSL has been ordered and will arrive in 7 days. :D

comcast was supposed to service my area back in '98. in 02 when i got cable i was happy :)

6 years? Wow! Back in 1998, I was on 28.8K. It was crawling. Then I moved to college, and discovering the school connection was like discovering religion for me, totally mind blowing. First 2 semesters, all I did was download movies and mp3s.

I switched over to @home in 2000 or 2001....I dont remember which. Stayed with it when they became attbi, still stuck with it when they changed over to comcast. Couldnt go back to dialup if you paid me. I have considered DSL, but that would mean I would have to get a landline again....

Be prepared to spend more time online. And say goodbye to all that free disk space....

I don't know about Verizon, but with SBC I got the equipment a week earlier than they said I would receive it, and plugging in the modem right away told me they activated my line a week early as well.
