As far as being 'overrated'....if you (as a band) can stick around for 30 YEARS, manage to make MANY multiplatinum records (not to mention one of the MOST important rock albums of all time....BIB), still tour like madment WHILE SUPPORTING NEW ALBUMS....Then I want to be overrated too!

So I'm going out on a limb here and will guess that you are somebody who likes NON-mainstream rock/metal (possibly progressive or even Lamb-of-God type stuff)? Regardless of what type of music you like, I be willing to bet that you are of the mind that if a band 'makes it' they are 'turning their backs' on the fans? Just a guess, could be wrong.

He's not bad, but you can tell he's a Angus worshiper. He's a parrot that just mimics the person he feels plays the best. I was like that with Jimmy Page some years back. Later, I found it was better to learn WHY a person plays like they do instead of the easier HOW a person plays like they do. From that, you graduate from being a mimic to being a musician

Not trying to start a flame war (as everyone is entitled to their opinion....and I respect that) but the same could be said of David Gilmour from Pink Floyd (another of my favorites). He probably isn't the most technically correct guitar player (nor the fastest) but I would put one of his (or angus') solos up against most other pros as far as conveyance (sp?) of emotion goes. Gilmour says a LOT with a few notes where people like Yngwie (who I also like and respect) say very little with a whole LOT of notes.

As far as I'm concerned, I couldn't care less about 'technicality' or 'sloppiness'. As long as it sounds good and helps the listener understand the mood/feelling of the song, I'm all for it.

Actually, Gilmour is a master guitar player. He has a brilliant talent for incorporating unusual sounds into his playing, which makes him very interesting to listen to. He's also very rhythmic (probably because he started as a bass player), which makes you able to feel his music as well as listen to it.

I don't think you're so sure, because your opinion is definately in the minority after looking at their record and concert sales.

This guy is pretty amazing and must be dedicated judging buy the plain bed, Angus Young Signature Edition SG, and the Monsters of Rock poster on the wall. Most people who try and play Angus's solo's can barely get the notes, let alone the vibrato and the "finesse". I would love to see this guy play the You Shook Me All Night Long solo.
