(WTNH) _ Prosecutors may be taking a second look at the case of a teacher accused of allowing students to see pornographic images on a classroom computer, according to a published report.
According to the Norwich Bulletin, prosecutors asked the judge to delay the sentencing of Julie Amero, which was to have taken place tomorrow.
Amero was convicted in January of risk of injury to a minor after the images began appearing on the computer. This happened back in October of 2004.
Amero said she didn't do anything wrong, that the images came from pop-up advertisements. Many computer experts came to her defense, saying a forensic examination of the computer should have been done before she was tried.
In asking for the delay Assistant State's Attorney David J. Smith told the judge, "The state has not completed a full examination of all the issues which may affect its position at the sentencing hearing," the Bulletin reported.
This sentencing is now scheduled for May 18.
