According to Lucas on the Episode III DVD extras, he got into a fight with Mace Windu between Episode 2 and Episode 3 and, as Grevous usually does, managed to run away from the fight with wounds to his organs.

Right, but Anakin was way more "borderline" than the venerable Windu. If Windu had those powers, Anakin should have been much stronger in them.
