So, is the point of Rickrolling deception? As in, you would never expect a voice like that to come from a twerp like him?

Rick Astley used to be a coffee runner for some of the other guys in videos, but when they heard his voice they made a video. They shot the video in a day or two and the bartender showed up drunk. He woke up on a table and they had him do the stunt for the video, where he does the flip. The first time he lands on his head, the second, he lands properly. One of the backup dancers didn't know the steps, so they tried to block her out. Astley complained that the video was too "repetitive", which is ironic since the song is even more so.
