pci-e 1x is not yet available in the Cont. USA I don't think. Any one enlighten me?

PCIe-x1 slots are widely available, here is a list of a bunch of motherboards with one PCIe-x1 slot and there are plenty more with two or three.

I don't get the "no HDTV" complaints thoug, it is an analog tunner/capture card. Complaining that it doesn't support HDTV is like complaining that a DVD burner doesn't support BluRay.

I think it is just that some of us would like component input, basically. :)

im comparing it to ATI's hdtv tuner

it would be a good idea if ati starts selling high-end graphics cards with the theater 550s as a combo package.

Hmm they appear to be avaliable as they are for sale on pricewatch. Saw one for $77 after I read this. Just do a search over there for the card. First one that popped up was the PCI-E x1 model

Just search for theater 550 over at Pricewatch. Some are PCI and some are PCI-E x1.

For Instance:

POWERCOLOR ATI THEATER 550 PRO 16MB DDR Memory 12-bit Video Decoder with Hardware 3D Comb FM Radio DVD Quality MPEG-2 Encoder PCI/PCI Express x1Bus Interfaces Tul Theater 550 PRO Advanced Hardware Noise Reduction Worldwide Stereo
