Finally paying for insurance has paid off!

I just started paying for my own health insurance last year and haven't been to a doc or a dentist since I started... But unfortunately, my leg started hurting this week....it's sorta bad cause my foot was all numb and it hurt my shins to walk... Went to my HMO appointed doc and he diagnosed me with having a nerve problem. Now I'm all zonked on a double dose of cortizone and the doc visit and cortizone only cost me about $20! I couldn't feel this good after drinking $20 of beer in a bar! Anyhow, I'm glad that we have insurance to help eat the costs of health care in the U.S. I can only guess what this is going to cost after I go in for P.T. next week to treat this... 🙂

It's great until you realize that you dumbfuck of an employer forgot to mention thaty changed the group insurance policy from a 0 deductable to a $1000 general deductible, $500 abulance deductible, and $500 emergency deductable to "cut back on costs" :|

Sorry if that's happened to you, but I work for a State University. The day that my benefits suck that bad is the day I quit. They don't pay me enough to be stingy with benefits. I get free tuition, health care, optional retirement pension plan, 5 weeks paid vacation, 2 and a half weeks sick leave and all national holidays off every year. It's not a bad package. 😀

Try not to get many of those shots, they can be a problem. It is a great anti-inflamatory steroid, but why are you zonked?

I didn't get a shot. I'm taking the pill form. The reason I feel zonked is because I took the morning, lunch, and dinner doses all at once....my doc told me to. I'm not really zonked, they just sorta woke me up a little. Kinda making me wired and tingly. 😀
