Finally past +30k

Jarhead

Senior member
24 days in theater, finally Jarhead's fireteam
passes 30k. Working on bringing up the second
fireteam. Fleabay is a wonderful place...

FYI, I'm a major small fry, running five machines
at home at the moment, putting stuff together by
the nickel and dime, but I'll keep doing my part
to help make a difference. Sure wish I owned a
big mainframe store, or a IS guy at some small
company like IBM, but hey, this is life, as real
as it gets.

Virge-enjoyed "your" chat log.... 😉

Just got back from Fry's, hopefully I finish up bringing another one online, I'd have two more, but Celerons are just to darn expensive at Fry's.

(And I am still looking at 7 more abandoned empty cases just tugging away...FleeBay, here I come!!!)

Hand wired up some i810 boards to ignore the 1.5V core requested by the chip, got them sending 1.65V (1.7V requires a more elaborate modification), now on to forcing a 100 Mhz clock...that'll give my stats a kick in the pants. Can't beat these 9.00-12.95 boards for crack racks! Built in video to boot!

Whats up with DPC laying the smack on us like we are some little snot nosed kids?

Any chance in getting Anand to front page our plight and turning the heat up a few notches???

Jarhead, those MB mods may be worth a little more info/pics when you get the time--don't want to distract you while tending to your herd 😉. It may even make a nice article in the newsletter. Hard to beat a $12 MB with built in video.

/me salutes "major small fry" Jarhead 😉

You seem to be running a fine outfit ... keep'em comin', oh and I LIKE the way you handled that P4 weasel that's the spirit we want right there 😎

Welcome to the TeAm, and keep building your squad 🙂

OOHRAH!!!

And in other news today from the Battle Front...

The first member of my fire team suffered a minor defeat today, in the face of the notorious Toby the Cat. He is being tended by a Corpsman, who is searching for a new Super I/O chip, since there was a minor explosion in the mezzanine, where Toby the Cat fell asleep in the warmth, while on prowl during a reconnaissance mission. Reports indicate that someone went to fetch more ammunition, made a whirl, and a few ratchet like sounds, which startled Toby the Cat, and while he was fleeing to get the hay out of dodge, he somehow pushed the mezzanine into 550#3 and damaged the interface circuitry for 550#3's tactile human input device, which prevents his system from completing boot-up...

May send most of 550#3 back stateside for R&R, and since equipment is short, let 550#4 utilize it until he returns from R&R.
