Well, after much research, many changed decisions and plenty of posts on this and other forums, yesterday I ordered the parts for my new PC.

Motherboard: DFI Lanparty NF4 Ultra
Processor: Athlon 64 3500+ Venice
RAM: 2GB (2x1024) OCZ Platinum
Video Card: 7800 GTX
Hard Drive: 250GB Seagate 7200rpm SATAII
Case: Lian-Li V1000b Plus
Power Supply: OCZ Modstream 520w
Heatsink: Zalman 7000b-cu
DVD/CD: Nec 3540b

Just wanted to post it here and say thanks to all those who helped in answering my questions.
