So for the past 7 years I have dabbled in the home theater space.
I've never had a proper setup. I've always ghetto rigged pieces together to complete my system. I've always had a projector (Panasonic AE700, and then a Mitsubishi HC4900), and for speakers I've always used my Logitech Z-680's.
I've had to use HDMI switches, multiple inputs on the speakers, and everything was very complicated.
This past week, I sold my parents my projector and finally got the approval from my wife to upgrade!
This morning I purchased the following:
Panasonic P60ST30 Plasma
Energy 5.1 Take Home Classic Speakers
Onkyo TX-NR609 Receiver
I can't wait to hook it up.
I've got a Quad-core i5 HTPC I run on it with Windows Media Center, using
Sickbeard (for television show management)
Sabnzbd+ (newsgroups)
Media Browser (content playback)
Plex (Streaming to my cell phone)
I plan on getting my cable card when the tuners come down in price.
So excited.
