Thats because most dvd players nowadays rewind the dvd automatically when you're done watching it. (i know mine does)

I worked at BB in '99, and sometimes I'd ask customers if they rewound their DVDs. Sometimes they'd laugh, sometimes they'd politely tell me that DVDs don't need to be rewound, and others looked shocked and asked me how.
