That's not even a feature of the board... it's software... blah!

Can you hook the damn thing up to a DD amplifier (NOT a propritary Cambridge system) and get 2ch, 4ch, 5.1ch sound from JUST the digital out jack?

I'd like to go to a totally digital out system for a change.

Yep this came out a while ago. Due to the SDMI stuff, I'll look elsewhere. I don't need a committee, Creative, Microsoft and the RIAA telling me I can't make analog copies of the music I buy for the car, boombox, etc.

yeah right, I'm sure you and the rest of the guys are really righteous about copyright and paying creators... :p
ATi got caught out trying to jump on the standards bandwagon.
obviously Creative think they have so much power in the industry collaborating with copyright commitees for $ will just work out fine.

Well if all the sound card mfgrs. sleep with MS, the RIAA and the SDMI honkies then rights restriction technology will take hold and never let go. It's the same issue with MS's WMA format. It may look OK now but why risk future manacles and chains? How does SDMI help me, the lowly music consumer? It doesn't.

what do u mean wing?

it has MORE features than the santa cruz and herc GTXP, namely:

1) Secure content support (work with sound protected against unauthorized copying).
2) New more powerful sound processor to alleviate some of the cpu utilization bogging down 1.5ghz cpus when playing mp3s
3) Useful Dual firewire support on your sound card! (for those serious about firewire usage)

and many other terrific features at unbeatable prices...

*note: WDM drivers currently non-functional for years to come.
**please do not use a VIA, ALI, or SIS chipset
***not compatible with Windows 2000
****not compatible with sharing resources with other devices

Nort your being sarcastic right????? Nevermind i can't see the benefit in those features verse the features of the SC or GTXP. THat card sounds like a Hardware figment of Napster or something.
