I actually saw a closeup pic of a koolance case and I saw lian li logo and asked someone about it.

Definitely good choice. I say forget SLI and spend money on dual core.. It's a lot more noticeable difference.

the older koolance cases looked like antec 1080s or the large chieftec cases, and they charged the same price as what they are charging now for the lian li cases...

yep, but they are much more epensive. i have never seen a cheiftec one firsthand but in pics they appear to look like antec ones. sometimes i wonder if a lot of companies get the cases from the same place and then just repackage them like dvd-rws...

No can do, I need to start building this system in 2 weeks from yesterday and conroe won't be out yet.

Man you might wanna think about kicking up to a Seasonic 600w or at least a TP-II 550 with dualie 7900GTs and a (probably overclocked, yes?) Opty 144. Overclocking is gonna stress your PSU, and a coupla 7900GTs won't exactly be gentle either.

If you wanna do SLI AND overclock, the only PSU under 550W I'd recommend would be the PC Power and Cooling 510W model. You don't wanna be limited in your OC or lockup in games because your PSU can't feed the CPU and/or GPUs properly. I'd shoot for a minimum of 550w just to be safe.

Well I'm not using SLI, just a single 7900GT and opteron 144 now.

Highly doubtful dx10 games will be out this fall. AFAIK dx10 wont be out until vista which comes out in Q1 07 if we're lucky.

I wouldn't count on seeing dx10 games before NEXT fall

I heard halo 2 is dx10.

I don't know when halo 2 comes out, or if it's supposed to be dx10. You won't see dx10 until vista, and you won't see vista this year. No sense worrying about it this year.
