Richdog,
I'm of the same philosphy as you. Actually I was running on a Radeon 32DDR until a week ago. It was a kicka$$ card when it came out and was a big step up from the once vaunted Voodoo 3 3000 (my first H/P video card). I just now finally upgraded to a GeForce 4 ti-4200, and that, along with a new CPU platform really boosted the animation and quality of picture for my Never Winter Nights game.
But like you, I waited until a good solid card came down in price and then upgraded. I figure my ti-4200 should hold me over for a year and next summer I'll re-evaluate my needs. Even the DX9 games slated to come out reportedly don't rely heavily on DX9 features.
