finally learned how to properly open a bag of rice!

up until now I had always took the time to cut each individual loop of thread out of the bag. today i somehow found a way to just pull on each of the threads and it all just comes right out! I don't know how I did it but it beats picking out little 1cm long scraps of orange thread from your rice bag whoo! anybody have tips on how to properly start opening a bag of rice? I googled for "how to open a bag of rice" and nothing turned up perhaps I should do a howto on it.

yes yes I know btw for clarification, it was one of those big ass Chinese bags of jasmine rice, not those little boxes of Uncle Bens

Um, even if you didn't know to just yank on the thread, why didn't you just cut the top off right below the string? That would have been easier too.
