and all I can say is wow, this card is very nice for the 150 I paid shipped

never knew there was that much detail in Q3a and my framerates went up if anything, granted I was comming from a v3 2000.

I really like the card, the only pita was that I had to have a default video driver installed for it to loard the drivers, without that they would not load at all. But it was easy as pie, just killed my v3 software using add/remove, deleted drivers from the sys control panel and installed the card.

best 150 I have ever spent now all I need is a new mobo/cpu.

Thanks guys for the good advice

glad u like your card. i hope ppl that say "Image Quality doesnt matter, only speed matters" and bash Radeon should try seeing things on same computer with Radeon in it. I've seen ppl change From Geforce GTS to Radeon and really love the change but didnt see any Radeon to Geforce upgrade at all. Then again i didnt have Geforce GTS on my system so i can't say for all, but just my 2 cents.

hehe... well heres one for you I had a creative labs Geforce 2 gts when they where first released.. Returned it.. went back to my TNT card temp. for my athlon 750mhz system.. Then I got this radeon (32 ddr)6 days ago from best buy.. DAMN THE IMAGE QUALITY IS A STEP UP.... But.. When I play online I do not like my FPS to dip below 60... unfortunetly the radeon does this in RUNE and other d3d games @ 1024x768 16bit everything high.. and 32bit is like the same as 16bit BUT LOOKS A hell of alot better.. So needless to say I'm returning this and bought another Geforce2 from untamo.

The reason why Is I play competivly alot of FPS, there is a difference between 45 fps avg and 90!+
I went from my TNT everything low in Half life cs... getting avg of 45 fps.. to this radeon which is benched @ 139 fps 1024x768 in quake2 32bit.. Its just alot easy to aim and stuff its hard to explain. I'm waiting for the radeon 2 to be released and drivers to mature and have better surport for D3d....I cant bash the radeon structure, it has alot going for it (sept for that ugly 16bit color..) :)

Oh yeah + my radeon card was clocked @ 164/164 :( I tried to overclock it to 185/185
this just caused system instability :(

Anyways.. I can live with the difference with the geforce2 gts and the radeon image quality seeing how I use 16bit alot and radeons 16bit isnt quite as fast as the geforce 2 and it doesnt really look that good (you know what i mean). but for $150.. thats a good deal. $21 more for a geforce though :)

well it may not be as fast as a gforce but it sure is nice, a hell of alot nicer than my v3 2000 that is for sure and I would imagine it is alittle nicer than a sdr mx card.

Where can you get a gforce for only 20 more? is that for sale in the for sale board? oh well now all I need is a cpu upgrade

I also play alot of FPS online and don't notice any dip with the radeon on my 450 system, maybe because I am cpu limited but it still seems like an awesome card

?? geforce GTS is $171? where at? that's true. ive tried HL with Radeon and it is oddly choppy on my system. But image quality and speed is fantastic for Quake3 and UT. Yeah, i was trying to say that try it on your system, it is both unfair to catagorize all cards together. Some ppl dont care and can't tell much on image stuff while some ppl want those crisp and perfect image. Hey, at least now there is some threat to Nvidia (what happened to 3dFX? hehe Voodoo6 doesnt interest me at all, price is too high for mediocore performance). :) i am glad we have ppl that tried both and told their version but also open to hear what other ppl had to say. Good forum :D

hl is choppy? damn that sucks that was one of my favorite games. and since we have basically the same system I am sure things will be the same for me, oh well hopefully a driver update will cure that sometime soon

Where do you get the Radeon 32 for $150? I was looking on buy.com, and unless I'm mistaken, it had the Radeon 16 for something like $230...and didn't even have the 32

The 2d seems good, I didn't really have any complaints when it came to the 2d of my 3dfx card, seemed good enough to me. I am now wondering if the radeon was the way to go, been to rage 3d and seen alot of problems people are having with this card, oh well I will try it out more and then decide
