Honestly, they were extremely detailed, but I can't imagine they would fool anyone. The hardest thing to fake is the paper. You can tell a counterfit bill by feel easily, unless someone has gotten the paper correct. This is possible for one by bleaching $1 bills.
The Iraqi Dinar also uses the proper blend of textile sources, and it is cheaper than $1 bills. Of course Dinars have ghost watermarks of horses on them, so if they check that you're kinda hosed.

So finally, now we know why the U.S. invaded Iraq... it was all an elaborate heist!

We used to get quite a few counterfiet bills when I was managing a Papa Johns in my hometown. Dumb@ss college students would try and pass them off all to often. I would tell my drivers to accept them without a word so we would turn them into the cops. We actually had this happen on 5 different occasions in one semester. The best one I remember this cop comes in after I called, and asked to see the bills there were 3 $10s. She glanced at them dropped them on the counter and proclaimed them as the real, after I finished laughing I pointed out to her that they all had the same serial number. Needless to say the cops went to the kids house and took all the computers and printers and arrested the 4 guys living there.
