I'll buy that for a dollar!

Imagine my exquisite joy about being linked with you in an argument.

About paying my lesbian mother for sex no less... But she's Buddhist, so she believes in that whole "no desire" nonsense, which would make the money irrelevant, and thus you'd be hard-pressed to convince her.

I can be bought pretty cheap though. Hell, I haven't eaten in a few hours, so I'd probably bang you for a bag of pretzels.

And now that I think about it, what's unethical about prostitution? I don't see anything wrong with receiving money for something that's legal to give away for free... Maybe I'm crazy...

And I shouldn't have said I agree with you in principle, because I don't. I can see where you're coming from with the ethical argument, but seeing as how I personally can't imagine that anyone involved in this scenario (Iceberg, his mother, his boss, his coworkers, the vending machine owner, etc.) would honestly care about the loss of less than $4.00 due to a mistake in setting the prices, I don't see an ethical issue here. I see an honest mistake and someone taking advantage of that mistake for negligible profit. If the vending machine had started spewing out hundreds of dollars in quarters and Ice had taken them, then I might agree with you. As it stands, this is a complete non-issue.

I paid in advance .70 recieved refund in full AFTER the product was dispensed is in no way stealing.

Ahh right, ATOT law, like if the bank was unattended and the cash drawer open it's implied you can freely take all the money out of it.

People are fucking unbelievable today and then we all wonder why the economy is fucked up.

Dude they're $0.70 bag of Pretzels, not HDTV's. Shut the hell up.

So stealing small items is OK? Where do you draw the line, $10...$100, $500?

It's just like they told us in school...vending machine theft is gateway crime. Soon IcebergSlim will be stealing HDTVs and attacking shipments of tanks overseas. It's almost as bad as...smoking marijuana! TEH HORRORZ!

Again I didn't steal.

I wouldn't say didn't... you did steal someones opportunity to get a free bag of pretzels

They put a drink vending machine in my area at work. I didn't want it there because I knew it would draw human traffic. Boss of the boss didn't care, as he was going to benefit from the proceeds.

Well, when they put it in (it was a Coke machine, dealt in plastic bottled drinks), they didn't set the price. It was a brand new, out-of-the-crate machine, and I was at work that night after they brought it in and set it up when I discovered the mistake.

I helped myself to all of the 5 cent sodas that I had change to pay for, and the boss of the boss had to eat the loss.

I was the only one there and he knew it had to be me, but when he found out he wasn't going to say anything after the argument we had over it. :p

I didn't know you referred to your bedroom at your mom's house as prison. Guess it makes you feel more harder and boosts your street cred.
Aw, is lil Alke mad now? Surely you could have come up with a better yo momma joke than that.

no dumbfuck, when a merchant is advertising BOGO you aren't stealing.

When you exploit a pricing mistake you are.

So when a store advertises X at 29.99, but rings up at 49.99, and you make the manager override the price, did you just steal $20 from the store?

You think that's good, I was in the break room one day and noticed this weird ringing sound. It was driving me nuts and I couldn't figure out where it was coming from. Anyway, I'm like a 4 year old and like to push buttons and notice an orange light on the soda machine was blinking. So I pushed the coin change button, and that sumbitch cashed out $12 in change like a slot machine. I was walking around with heavy jingling pockets the rest of the day.

There used to be these vending machines at my school that would vend everything if you tipped them forward by about 1 degree. Needless to say they got rid of those quick.

They refilled the machine this morning. They added buffalo wing pretzel bits. OMG yummmm. Still no price on C3 I put in a quarter and hit the buttons. Sure enough out popped the pretzels and my quarter.

Sounds like your company decided to take after Google and provide free snacks to it's employees.

It's pretty sad that people are ok with this. Yes, it's a small amount of money and isn't going to ruin anyone. But seriously, it is stealing because you know you are going to get your quarter back. Someone made a mistake, and everyone makes mistakes. The firmware running the machine is definitely not supposed to give you your money back while allowing you to clean out an entire row. You know that and so does everyone else. I don't think you are turning into a criminal but this is definitely wrong and unethical. It is also definitely stealing after the first time. When you first went to the machine, you were a paying customer who got a free bag due to a problem. That's fine. The second time you knew it would happen so you continued to do it until you had them all. That is when you stole from the machine. The irony here is that I would have felt inclined to do the same had I been in your situation, but I still wouldn't have done it.

The attitude of the people in this thread is deplorable. You are all basically ok with taking advantage of anyone and everyone for your own benefit. It just doesn't make any sense.

Actually this attitude makes perfect sense. It is the essence of our society and culture. Capitalism is defined by the principle of exploiting someone or something else to your own gain. A social/economical structure based on money will always create this type of culture its inherent. Call it fascism, socialism, communism or whatever you want to call it the effects on society and human behavior will be the same....as you put it....deplorable.

No, it doesn't make sense. You ignored everything else I said because you know it's true. Taking advantage of people for your own good is NOT the key to success. It makes you a bad person and an unethical prick.

I think you're just taking this entire thing a little too seriously.
