Finally bought this baby at a local retailer for $800 CAD (About $655 US). I am pretty excited about this one, as I had read it uses the same panel as the Dell 2001FP, which had great reviews here at Anandtech.
Has anyone here used this monitor, who can tell me what to expect out of this thing in the long run? The only thing I am having second thoughts at this point was not buying the "Extended Service" option (similar to what they offer at Best Buy). I heard that LCDs are quite fragile, which is why I considered it, but I figured the standard 3 yr warranty with Viewsonic should be enough since Viewsonic has a local service center in my city (no need to pay for shipping should I need to fix it).
