FSCKING HELL! I've been trying to get CloneCD to work on my computer for a long time. It used to work fine on Win98, but after I moved to Win2k, it didn't work!

I've tried every new version put out and none of them ever worked! After about 10 emails to them, I went over the FAQ for the 100th time, and read this:

<< My ATAPI CD-ROM or CD-Writer should work according to the hardware list, but it doesn't!

CloneCD uses very uncommon sector sizes for the transfer. Certain DMA Busmaster drivers for VIA or ALI chipsets are not working properly with these transfer sizes. You should get an update of the IDE Busmaster drivers from ALI or VIA for your motherboard, or you can try to disable DMA for the affected devcices in the Windows Device Manager

Now I don't have an ALI or VIA chipset, but I do have DMA enabled on the drive. Anyway, I decided to check if my burner had a Firmware update (Mitsumi 4802TE (4/2/8)), there was a new one, so I tried the flash, but it never started the flashing and hung for a minute. It later came up with a message saying the flash had failed and told me to reboot.

This time, I decided to DISABLE DMA on the drive, and the Flash worked, so I ENABLED DMA again, rebooted and installed the latest CloneCD (2.6.2.1), and once again I find out it totally hangs the program as usual. So once again I DISABLED DMA on the drive, rebooted and hoped for the best.

What do you think happened? It opened fine! GOD!! What a pain in the a$$!

Now a question

Why would I have to disable DMA to get this program to run? Or to flash the firmware?

I don't do much reading from the drive cause I got my Pioneer 104s DVD drive, and isn't a big problem to have DMD disabled.

Do most Burners need to have DMA disabled?

ARG!!!!
