They are both amazing system with beautiful graphic and the price was right.

However, the one thing I'm sort of disappointed is that I have the new version of both console so they are matte instead of glossy and it just doesn't really look premium anymore. I know most people prefer matte and people with glossy PS4 want to replace it with a matte face plate but for me it just doesn't have that look of the PS4. Having the color in matte finish means there is only one color so thus less contrast.

Am I the only person that feel this way? I know that my PS4 is the new 1215A PS4 so it has full matte finish and mechanical power and eject button and it better in every way including being lighter but at the cost of it premium look.

o_Ooo that is cool mate! It doesn't really really bother me but it just that I never got a first generation or the original version of any console to date. When I had my PS2 it was the slim model and even my PS3 was not the original model.

I have zero interest in a PS4 slim and I plan on waiting for a sale and upgrading my PS4 to 2TB HD.

Gloss really doesn't look premium. It takes NOTHING to get the console scratched, and then the gloss just turns into a dust/fingerprint/scratch magnifier. In a controlled environment where it's never touched, it's fine. The second it needs removed from the box or moved to a different room or a controller is set on it for 10 seconds, it's screwed.

Maybe just play the games instead of worrying about which faceplate would be more likely to be approved by Better Homes and Gardens?

It not the glossy itself but for example the PS4 gloss backplate is a deeper black to it bottom faceplate layer which has a normal dark black if you get what I mean.

It all about contrast and how many colors variation there are on the console itself. With the matte finish, it all the same color.

Just got a vader ps4 and picked up a 1tb holiday xb1(3). Haven't paid really any attention to these yet but was watching someone play rocket league in store the other day and did think the graphics had a noticeable improvement over the previous.

Weird... I associate gloss with cheaper electronics, and happy meal toys. Matte is better

Very cool man, look like both of us are going back to console even though we are both PC gamers I think since we are on a PC board.

Other than skippin most of the early PS consoles, I general get them at some point. Much better to wait though and pick up both for about $500 than pay almost that for one at release.

Wait, which did you skip? There aren't that many PlayStations, so the statement seems a bit weird. Did you skip the PS, PS2, and PSP or something?

Well with glossy, you get to think of all of the hard manual labor that was involved hand-polishing the steel molds....

I tend to play my PS4 more, I mainly play XB1 for Halo 5, Forza 6, Horizon 2 and PES 2016 and occasionally Fallout 3 (BC) but also have FIFA 15, Forza 5 and BF4. I have more titles on the PS4 (32).
