Pic

First detailed wash since I've moved to Texas and she doesn't look too bad. However, now the hail damage is easily visible (not visible in the pic).

Had a hail storm about two months ago and with the dry area and lots of dust it didn't really show until I did the detailed wash and wax.

Now I need to find a place to fix the damage.

*poops on the OP's car*

I park my car on the street so I only wash it at the auto car wash once a month. No point in keep it all shiny when it gets covered in fog dew every night/morning, and birds poop on it.

I'm so glad I don't own a car with black paint. One of my friends has one and it's a bitch and a half to keep clean, but when it is, it looks damn good.

It is a bitch. Especially in the dusty area I live in. Even though I keep it in the garage at home the dust storms and occasionally rain make it impossible to keep it looking great all the time.

I got so fed up that I'll wash my car once a month now. I can't keep up with cleaning it so much.

I would wash and wax my car except it is a van and that van has tons of rust and paint chipping off.

At least the windshield only has 1 crack in it. :(

I understand the sentiment, but you really need to keep the paint waxed properly or it will come back to bite you in a few years. And since you can't wax a dirty car, I just wash mine for the sole purpose of waxing it, knowing full well that it will be filthy in a few days, but at least it will be protected a bit underneath that filth.

So true about waxing your car at least once a year. Keeps the car shiny after every wash and protects from all those acid rain.

Part of the reason why I like my beige car, I haven't washed it in years and, aside from the bugs coating the front, it looks fine. :)

think of the bug coating a speed coating, kinda like the dimples on a golf ball ;)
