MWD/LWD work does if you work all the time, but this pretty much means your life is on an offshore oil rig. Wireline can get that high too, but it depends on what kind of services you run. First year is around 60k though. Not sure about the other PSL groups (Cementing, Completion, Frac), but there is money to be made in it.

Not only that, but cost of living in the south is pretty low compared to many places.

Now if you work overseas, you can make a killing!

good for you. my neighbor works for Haliburton he has been with them for 6-7 years working out in the colorado oil/gas fields. he just got promoted to a supervisor so how he drive a new white Haliburton truck with a spare diesel tank in the bed. too bad i dont have a diesel or i could get free fuel from him. 😀

before he got promoted he was pulling in 70+ but that was working A LOT OF HOURS. my wife used to babysit his kid but after 5 months of daddy leaving at 5am and not getting home until 11pm my wife told him to find somebody else. we dont mind babysitting but damn that was too much. the money was nice, my wife didnt cut him any breaks either, typically my wife would pull in over a grand a month just from watching her all those hours.

I wish I could get a job at the Valero oil station in Aruba, but I don't have any experience or anything in that field heh.

As a field engineer you get a company vehicle in 6-9 months.
